Valentine’s fundraiser raises more than $1,600 to feed the hungry

Hands TogetherTo celebrate Valentine’s Day, Hands Together New York (formerly Lamplighters Community Volunteers) held ‘Have a Heart for Hunger’ fundraisers in Hicksville and Melville Hub on Long Island. And they were a great success … with generous employees raising more than $1,600 for Island Harvest, a local hunger relief organization.

If you helped us in this effort, thank you so much! And, if you contributed at least $20, please consider making your dollars count for more – by going to National Grid’s Cybergrants for a dollar-for-dollar company match. Under the organization’s name, put LILCO Lamplighters Inc. The address is 175 East Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY 11801.

Our colleague Jeanette Martone (System Mapping, Hicksville) is a gifted artist and dedicated humanitarian always helping others in need. And she donated her original artwork – ‘What is Home’ – for one of the raffles (see below).
