Toray Plastics celebrates new heat and power facility

National Grid was pleased to be part of a press conference held earlier this fall to celebrate the opening of a second cogeneration system at Toray Plastics in North Kingstown. National Grid has been working hand-in-hand with Toray Plastics over the past two years to provide customized energy solutions that help support the company’s energy efficiency goals.

- The project will reduce electricity consumption energy by 12 MW
- Co-gen will use 6.35 million therms per year
- Project was fully up and running as of Sept. 30
