Three days of REV and clean energy talk

It was three days of Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) and clean energy talk with the backdrop of Climate Week NYC.  National Grid hosted the Grid Edge Executive Council Quarterly meeting, and participated in the NY REV Future 2016 council conference.

The Grid Edge Executive Council includes key decision-makers dedicated to driving the future of the electric grid. The group consists of 100 members including utilities like National Grid, technology companies, regulators, and policymakers. Members of the US Strategy, Technology & Development represented the company on the Council.   

Ken DalyKen Daly, President & COO, New York Jurisdiction, kicked off the REV discussion during the Grid Edge Executive Council meeting, held in MetroTech, He shared with the group National Grid’s commitment to pushing the industry forward in providing customers with innovative technologies, programs and services and highlighted the company’s REV demonstration projects.

The discussion continued at the NY REV Future 2016 conference. Over 1,000 key stakeholders, technology providers, utilities and state policy makers came together for a two-day event focusing on the continued development of a clean, resilient and affordable energy system for consumers across New York.  National Grid’s own Carlos Nouel, New Energy Solutions leader, was featured on the keynote panel where he shared innovative business models being explored by NES in National Grid’s REV demonstration projects across Upstate New York. Joining Carlos was Phil Austin, also from New Energy Solutions, who was featured on the panel “Designing Solutions Customers Want.” Both shared National Grid’s learnings, challenges and some early successes with the events attendees highlighting our commitment to creating a new energy delivery model that meets our customers’ needs today and well into the future.
