Supplier diversity done right!
Last year, the National Minority Business Council (NMBC) recognized National Grid with its Outstanding Corporate Diversity Award for 2014. This year, we’re hosting NMBC’s 35th annual Awards Luncheon and Expo on Thursday, February 26 in New York City at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square.
“National Grid has a proud history of supporting women, minority and veteran-owned small businesses throughout the Northeast,” says Supplier Diversity Director Carla Hunter Ramsey. “National Grid’s vision is to be recognized as a global leader in developing strong, sustainable partnerships with diverse suppliers and demonstrating excellence in everything we do … And we believe we are well on our way.”
Carla will serve as ‘mistress of ceremonies’ at this prestigious event, where two of our preferred minority vendors will receive a special award in her late father, William Joseph Hunter’s name. Mr. Hunter is recognized for his pioneering efforts as a charter member of NMBC and, over many dedicated years, he provided invaluable business insight and mentorship to other diverse business owners nationwide
Check out the National Grid cover story, covering all our great supplier diversity strides, in the NMBC’s winter edition of its Better Business magazine. And watch for our post-event coverage of the awards gala.
