Approximately 25 National Grid Rhode Island employees worked together on Friday in efficient assembly lines to put together teacher appreciation packets as part of our annual support of City Year and the Gilbert Stuart Middle School.

Every year National Grid hosts a service day, along with City Year, to put together these gifts that will be given out this year at a teacher appreciation breakfast at Gilbert Stuart Middle School in February. GS1

The beautifully-wrapped packages include much-needed school supplies and are the perfect size for teachers’ desks. National Grid’s Rhode Island team sponsors a City Year AmeriCorps team at Gilbert Stuart each year.

The Providence school, which is nearby our Dexter Street office, serves more than 700 students. The City Year team members that we sponsor work directly in the school and help students who are struggling with academics, behavior and attendance. The team also helps to cultivate positive relationships among students and school staff.
