Recognition from the Society of Women Engineers

Award ceremony for women engineersThe Society of Women Engineers at Northeastern University recognized National Grid with an award this March for our corporate support of their work, which strives to give women engineers a voice in the engineering industry and to promote the careers of women engineers.

Sara Migdal, Phyllis Wall, and Jorge Calzada (pictured in photo), who are members of the Network Strategy team, accepted the award on our behalf at the annual recognition event.

We are pleased to receive recognition from this student organization for our commitment to advancing women in engineering. National Grid celebrates diversity as a key component of Award--Women-Engineerour Elevate 2018 Talent and Capabilities annual priority; building a workforce that has the tools, resources and capabilities needed to build and operate future energy networks.

So honored to receive the award on National Grid’s behalf. Had I known how many strong female role models were going to be there, I would have brought my 7-year old daughter!

I was so happy to read this article! What a wonderful recognition. Congrats to all those who made this happen. As the affirmative action officer for the company, it does my heart good to see this. Creating the future! Hopefully many of the Northeastern University SWE members will apply and be selected for jobs at National Grid.
