Raising Buffalo – a Connect21 video
Once upon a time, RiverBend was an industrial brownfield, housing the 90 acre Republic Steel Plant. Today, following a decade-long ecological and economical transformation, it’s restored and ready for new tenants. SolarCity is planning to build a 1,125,000 square feet factory in RiverBend.
There’s emergent growth in nearby areas too – downtown in repurposed buildings, the Niagara Medical Campus, along the waterfront and the harbor. Customers, small and large, are interested in expansion, capacity for future growth, energy efficiency, and renewables.
In our third Connect21 video, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, National Grid NY President Ken Daly, and others, tell a compelling story about economic development in Buffalo and Western New York.
Interesting fact: SolarCity will be the western hemisphere’s largest solar panel manufacturer.
