One of our employees honored by a global trade organization
One of our own has been honored by the Utilities Technology Council (UTC) for his outstanding contributions “to the critical role of information and communications technologies in delivering essential energy and water services to communities throughout the world.”
Kevin Malloy, Manager of Telecom Operations, was on hand to receive both the Chairman’s Award and the Meehan Award. The Meehan award, established in 1998, is named after the first Executive Director of UTC Charles M. (Mike) Meehan. According to UTC, “it recognizes individuals for their extraordinary leadership in projects during the past year that greatly furthered the interests and objectives” of the company.
The awards recognize Kevin for his work as Chairman of Region 1 (NE) and as Chairman of the Telecom Committee, which he chartered and developed into a 60 member group with three functioning sub-committees: Fiber, Spectrum and IP Transition. Furthermore, it recognizes him for hosting two national webinars on Telecommunications and Fiber Networks.
Malloy is responsible for the maintenance and construction of Operational Telecom Equipment in New England. This equipment includes mobile radio, microwave, fiber, metering and SCADA systems. Kevin supports Rhode Island, Massachusetts and FERC in both distribution and transmission assets.
“We’re proud of the commitment and dedication Kevin demonstrates on a day to day basis,” said Bob Brawley, director of Protection Telecommunications Operations and Substation. “He deserves all the recognition he receives and more.”
