The Affinity groups help to raise funds for Central New York Human Services programs, bring increased awareness to community needs, and volunteer with United Way agencies and programs.

Here’s what the United Way of Central New York is saying: “National Grid has been a great supporter of our Affinity group, Young Leaders United. When Women United was formed early in 2018, National Grid was one of the first supporters, encouraging employees to participate.  National Grid is an outstanding community partner, encouraging employees to invest and engage in our community. National Grid sets a great corporate example by paying for the first year of membership in either of our affinity groups. Employees involved in the groups have stepped up to volunteer with us as well as with their own internal group.”

“National Grid has a long history of supporting the United Way and the role they play in our community,” said Doneen Hobbs, National Grid Vice President U.S. Business Assurance. “To encourage continued engagement throughout the year and bring increased awareness of the Affinity groups to our employees, we hosted information sessions with representatives of Young Leaders United and Women United.  The interest was better than we could hope. We sponsored 32 new members of the programs.”
