Keep our work zones safe — “It’s everybody’s responsibility”
We joined the NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) and other partners to kick off National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW). The annual event to bring awareness to the importance of using extreme caution when travelling through work zones was held under the Hall of Science Bridge above the Grand Central Parkway in Queens.
In the photo are, Renee McClure, Terry Yarde and Eileen Cifone from NYJDx Customer & Community Management along with Vaughn Becote, Sr. Supervisor and Roger Jacobs, Local 101 A-Mechanic from NYC Gas Field Operations, they joined other agencies, utilities and unions to highlight the importance of Work Zone Safety to help ensure a safer environment for both workers and motorists. Renee delivered remarks emphasizing, “It’s important for everyone to do their part to improve overall safety for workers and the general public — “Work Zone Safety is Everybody’s Responsibility.”
WZAW is part of a concerted effort to remind everybody about the need to drive safely through work zones every day. For more WZAW news, see the NY1 News coverage of the event and the NYC DOT news release.
