Ice cream never tasted – or felt – so good!

By Ellen Cooke

Our HandsTogether NY volunteer group continues to keep their helping hands in a broad range of community activities across Long Island … most recently an ice cream social in Hicksville that raised $235 (in just two hours)!

HTNY-Ice-Cream-Social-FeatureParticipants helped themselves to make-your-own sundaes, knowing their contributions for the mid-day treat (and/or prize drawing tickets) would help Hope House Ministries Pax Christi Hospitality Center provide food, shelter, networking, and human needs and advocacy services to men over 16.

Special thanks to:

  • Our Ice Cream Shoppe staff: Bob Allgor, Lynn Falanga, Fred Garriel, Ruth Medford, Janet Prag and  Marilyn Reid
  • Pam Foca for creating the beautiful Ice Cream Social flyer/poster
  • Community & Customer Management’s Lauren Perry for the Long Island Ducks Tickets (drawing prize)

And congratulations to Errol Davis, lucky LI Ducks ticket winner!

On the horizon for Hands Together NY are a ladies handbag drive, a charity-raising fishing trip, fund drives to feed hungry children and families, Macy’s Shop for a Cause coupons and much more.
