Holiday Savings through Energy Efficiency
When we think of the holiday season, we undoubtedly picture bright, festive lights. Needless to say, holiday lighting displays usually require a significant amount of electricity. This year, National Grid teamed up with local store chain Benny’s to help customers make smart decisions about energy efficiency by talking to energy efficiency experts at a convenient Benny’s location.
Two in-store events were held in New England to promote the EE initiative. On December 3rd and December 10th, Strategic Communications and Energy Efficiency groups were on site at Benny’s Stores in Greenville, RI and Seekonk, MA, respectively. Customers were able to talk to National Grid representatives about energy efficiency, shop for holiday LED lighting products, and even sign up for free home energy audits, available through RISE and MassSave.
Customers are also being encouraged to share their LED holiday displays with National Grid on social media. “Holiday decorating doesn’t have to be expensive. Show us how you conserve energy with your festive LED lights!” was tweeted by @nationalgridus with the hashtag #holidayenergyefficiency. National Grid intends to share some of our favorite submissions received on our social media pages.
