Hitting Home Runs for Pawtucket Public School

By Tim Rondeau

We were with the Red Sox Foundation in Pawtucket, but not at McCoy Stadium.

On Friday, April 21, over 40 volunteers were on hand to spruce up Charles E. Shea Middle School while the students were on vacation.  Employee volunteers designed murals and painted classrooms for the Red Sox Foundation service project.  Even Wally, the Red Sox mascot, made an appearance for photo ops with the volunteers.

Our President in Rhode Island, Tim Horan participated in the fun as well.  “Anytime we have an opportunity to volunteer, our employees show up in full force, ready to work for our communities,” Horan said. “I’m always impressed by the dedication and stewardship displayed by our people.”

This is our third year partnering with the Red Sox Foundation.  Each year we host three service events in Rhode Island and three in Massachusetts.  Friday marked the seventh volunteer effort of its kind in Rhode Island to date.
