Gas safety education makes it to center court

By Karen Polise

On Tuesday, Dec. 4, National Grid was in the house at the Nassau Coliseum. The reason? We were sponsoring the Long Island Nets Education Day Game for 5,000 Long Island third- and fourth-grade students.

During half-time, Public Awareness Manager Lee Westerlind took to center court with some important messages. Lee said “The energy in the coliseum was amazing! It was a rewarding experience to have the opportunity to reach 5,000 children with National Grid’s gas safety information.”

Mike Presti, Customer & Community, Lee Westerlind, Manager – Public Awareness of Pipeline Safety & Compliance, and Alanna Russo, Customer & Community, share center court with the new Long Island Nets mascot, Dale the Eagle

Other National Grid-sponsored events coming up with the Long Island Nets are Women’s Empowerment Night, Student Athlete of the Month and, on Jan. 16, another Education Day.
