First Responder Utility Safety Website is “Best in Class”
Our e-learning website to train first responders on the hazards and risks present in emergencies where utility lines are involved has received a 2014 “Best in Class” interactive media award from the Interactive Media Council. The First Responder Utility Safety Training website is a self-paced, modular e-learning program to train emergency first responders so they can respond safely and effectively to incidents involving natural gas and electricity. “This program represents National Grid’s strong commitment to public safety and awareness by providing critical safety information to first responders…that can make a real difference on the incident scene,” says Brian P. Duggan, Massachusetts Fire Mobilization Regional Coordinator.
The honor, which recognizes the highest standards of excellence in website design and usability, is recognition of the teamwork and innovation demonstrated by Kathy McNamara, Public Awareness Program Manager, and the team: Carol Decina, Bob Wilson, Cosmo Iannicco, and Bo Ellis. Only three other sites in the competition earned the 2014 “Best in Class” honor. The award was announced earlier this month. Watch the video to learn more.
