Emergency response and support efforts recognized by EEI
The Edison Electric Institute (EEI, the association that represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies) has told us that they will be presenting us with not one but TWO emergency response awards at their annual Board meeting in January.
EEI selected National Grid as a winner of both the EEI Emergency Recovery Award for our outstanding efforts restoring power after the August macroburst event in Rhode Island, and the EEI Emergency Assistance Award for mutual aid we provided to Pennsylvania and Connecticut after thunderstorms swept through the northeast in July and August.
“We’ve made such progress in how we manage our emergency response, and we should all be proud to be recognized publicly and among our peers for what we do best: respond as an organization to storms, and restore power safely and as quickly as possible to our customers,” says Dan Bunszell, Vice President, New England Electric Operations.
We’ll share more details and photos after the formal presentation of the award in January.
