Committed to keeping Brooklyn Green

By Karen Polise

Did you know that we are the official energy partner for the Barclays Center and Brooklyn Nets? As the natural gas provider to Barclays Center we are also the presenting partner of their Green Program, to inspire Barclays Center guests to help the environment based on the sustainability efforts used in their operations.

Through our partnership with the Barclays and Brooklyn Nets we are “energizing” the community of Brooklyn by bringing the excitement of Nets basketball to local neighborhoods with various activities including events with hospitals and schools.  For game night on January 10, National Grid provided gas safety and energy efficiency information along with cool giveaways and a chance for fans to win prizes including tickets to a future game, a jersey, hoodie and more.  (Feel free to learn more about our presenting partnership of the Barclays Center Green Program here.)

Delivering the game ball – pictured (l to r) are Nets referee, Ken Daly, President, National Grid – New York, Dr. Miguel Martinez-Saenz, President of St. Francis College, Peggy Smyth, Chief Financial Officer, National Grid US and Rudy Wynter, President, National Grid – FERC, and Brooklynette

Coming soon will be the live radio interview that Ken Daly conducted during half time with Brooklyn Nets radio voice, Chris Carrino. Ken talked about energy efficiency, greening our communities and sustainability.
