Carol is a ‘power woman’
Carol Decina, Manager of Community and Customer for our Staten Island service area, was one of 30 local businesswomen to receive The Staten Island Power Women in Business Award in September. The women were honored for their work and commitment in support of Staten Island.
“It was truly an honor to receive this award and be recognized among other ‘power’ women on Staten Island – in all different businesses and industries,” said Carol. “It was wonderful to be able to share this night with my friends and colleagues.”
Carol has a long and distinguished career with National Grid, starting in 1981 with Brooklyn Union Gas. She’s held numerous and varied positions over the years, in areas such as Human Resources, Shared Services, and Public Awareness. She also served as Chief of Staff to the Executive VP and COO of Gas Distribution.
The festive night included a VIP reception, a networking expo and dinner before the awards ceremony. Geraldo Rivera served as special guest of the event and received The Man of the Year Award.
The presenting sponsor for the event was Staten Island University Hospital/Northwell Health; the other sponsors were Empire State Bank, National Grid, Investors Bank, New York Community Family of Banks, Sansone Auto Mall, Chase Bank, the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce and the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation (SIEDC).
