Build-a-Bike with Brooklyn Nets and smiles all around

A group of MetroTech employees joined the Brooklyn Nets and other volunteers at the Barclays Center in December for a Build-A-Bike event for 50 area children. With the help of 100 volunteers and bike technicians from Ride Brooklyn, the girls and boys began assembling donated bicycles, which they were told would be given as gifts to other children. But, to their surprise once the bikes were complete, members of the Brooklyn Nets announced that the bikes were theirs to keep!

The presence of four Brooklyn Nets – Jorge Guttierez, Jarrett Jack, Jerome Jordan and Deron Williams – along with Queens-native BMX pro rider Nigel Sylvester, added to the excited buzz that filled the Barclays Center lobby with smiles all around.
