Buffalo ‘National Grid Day’ powers up for STEM

By Kathy Hill

Stirring up STEM interest among potential engineers of tomorrow – and getting a head start on National Engineering Week – last week we sponsored National Grid Day at the Buffalo Science Museum.

In all, a team of eight National Grid employee volunteers spent time with the at least 600 children who made their way through the museum throughout the day, learning and having fun with static and active displays on energy production, efficiency and electrical safety. Participants included groups from key partners the Boys and Girls Clubs of Buffalo and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Buffalo.
