American Red Cross offers leaders a cause to come together
About 150 senior leaders from Operations & Engineering and Performance Excellence set aside a few hours during the first day of the Annual Leadership Conference on March 7 to give to the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Teams of 20 worked together to prepare 500 comfort kits of personal care items that the Red Cross will distribute to homeless veterans in Central Massachusetts. All of the items were donated by National Grid.
Others put together 25 tool backpacks that American Red Cross volunteers will use to install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors as part of the Red Cross home fire prevention campaign in Lawrence, Mass. National Grid also made a $5000 donation to American Red Cross Massachusetts CEO Ralph Boyd to buy the CO detectors for the program.
